Sarah, I think you’ve misunderstood what Simon was saying. The code you’re suggesting would always direct a user to the homepage of a mobile site. e.g.:
example.com/section/article
…will be redirected to:
mobile.example.com
…instead of:
mobile.example.com/section/article
As for my comment, I hope you appreciate what I was trying to say: that this otherwise-useful article is somewhat marred by its overly-defensive attitude with regard to media queries — a technology that’s tangential to the subject of the article (building iPhone-specific websites).
