I understand entirely what Simon was trying to say but I have pointed out in the article, that this is only suitable for some sites, it’s up to the site owner to make that call. It’s entirely possible to send the user to an iPhone specific page of a ‘Contact us’ page if they landed on the ‘Contact us’ page of the full site, but yes, in the case of blog posts links, this creates a whole new problem and I can appreciate that.

I’m sorry that my attitude toward media queries has come across as defensive, as I say in the article, I love media queries and they definitely have great uses, but in my opinion, there is a better way to create iPhone specific sites.

At the end of the day, we’ve all got to disagree at some point, that is what moves the web forward.
