    Thanks for bringing all of this together in one place Sarah – it’s a useful reference containing some great advice.

    The controversy around this article stems from the question of whether alternate versions of a website should be served for different browsers/devices. I think that people are quibbling over the wrong dichotomy. It is now possible to create applications for iPhone using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, then deploy them to the App Store using PhoneGap. In my mind, that significantly shifts the balance when weighing pros and cons of web apps Vs native apps. A web developer can now build applications for iPhone/iPad without having to learn Apple’s iOS SDK. The advice in this article is sterling for anyone who wants to do that.
